Losa: Eyes on the Prize
I’m sure all these Pasifika Businesswomen faced their share of career obstacles too… I admire them all for their vision and tenacity. You watch – Losa Saumalu will be right next to them!!

I can’t do part time study, I just can’t. It’ll take too long… I don’t want to panic just yet but I really hope everything is going to be okay. Mum and Dad’s boss is such a dick man. It’s not fair, just saying you’re gonna sell the Factory just like that. It’s hard for Mum and Dad too - they don’t really have any other qualifications or experience doing anything else for work. They got together young, and had us and this is how it has always been. I’m not complaining, or looking down on them, I’m just saying that I don’t want the same thing for my future... that’s why I’m so driven to get my degree and get away from this.
It hurt me to look around at everyone in our yard tonight and see helplessness on their faces… I t just motivates me so much more to not ever feel like I have no other option – you know what I mean?? I want to be able to run my OWN business and run it properly and fairly, keep helping my family and making them proud. It’s so hard to break that cycle though if it’s all you’ve ever known. For now, we just keep doing what we’ve always done I guess – stick together.
